For those of you who don’t know, I have a very extensive list of allergies. I’m allergic to pollen and grass (especially freshly mowed grass) and sometimes, I’m pretty sure I’m just allergic to Mother Nature in general. I’m mildly allergic to cats. I’m allergic to dust. I’m allergic to vodka. I’m allergic to shellfish (although recently I have been nibbling bits of shrimp and not getting an allergy reaction so maybe I’m not allergic anymore?) Anyway, time to add another new allergy to the list — nectarines.

Here I was, shopping at the grocery store and seeing a big pile of nectarines, decided to buy some to eat. I haven’t had a nectarine in probably 10 years or more, but I was never allergic to them before. So obviously I didn’t think anything could happen … Then today, I decided to eat one of my newly bought nectarines. Not too long after taking a few chomps of the fruit, my gums started hurting, my lips swelled up like bubbles, the area around my mouth turned red and my throat felt swollen as well (though not swollen SHUT, thank goodness).

Now who’s going to eat the rest of the nectarines I bought?!
