So I’ve been “farming” the Headless Horseman’s mount in WoW for the entire duration of the Halloween world event. (For those of you not in the know, I’ll translate: I’ve been killing this boss that only appears during the Halloween season in hopes of him dropping a rare mount for one of my characters. The mount is a flying black horse with green flames where his hooves should be, heh). I have six level 80′s who are eligible to fight him, but I only play 3 of them (the other 3 are on another server that I don’t like playing on anymore). Still, that’s three chances a day for the mount to drop (you can only fight him once a day). So far, none of my characters have had any luck.
Today, I jumped in my seat when I saw something new drop from the boss that I have never seen before after killing the boss on my shaman. I thought it was the mount just because it was something I’ve never seen, but after hovering over the loot and checking, I realized it was the Headless Horseman’s helm. Still a rare drop, but I was disappointed nonetheless. You know, it actually wouldn’t have been that bad if my shaman can WEAR a plate helm, even if it’s just for kicks (even though its item level is much too low for her now). See the arrow on the picture? Your character can do the creepy Headless Horseman laugh if they wear the helm! But alas … I have no luck. The only rare item to have dropped all freaking Halloween turns out to be something I can’t even use. Figures!
P.S. I just realized how difficult it is to write about WoW without assuming the reader understanding WoW :S

I quit playing WoW for a period last year that overlapped Halloween. My sister, however, used my account for different things (mostly my mining), and thought to take it on one of the dungeons for the mount. Lucky for me, I won it on a roll and she called it my really early b-day present.
Also aquired the aforementioned helm. Love it. Makes the newbies go "oooooh!"
Does suck about the drop-rate, though. I only have 2 80's, but my sister has 6, and she still didn't get it this time, and she's been trying two years in a row :(

Ah jealous! This is my third year trying, I never win any of the holiday mounts :( Well, that's not true, I won the Brewfest Kodo on the shaman this year, but that's one time out of many haha.
I 'quit' WoW last year but you always go back to it, hahaha. Can't help it!

When I get a decent computer that can run MMO I'll totally consider to play WoW again. haha
