Objective: Every Friday I will post a pet peeve I have. Simple, right? You can join in if you like. As a reminder, this is what a pet peeve is:
A pet peeve is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to him or her, to a greater degree than others may find it.
I cannot express how annoying the design of Garnier’s shampoo and conditioner bottles are. It has been annoying me for years. What’s so annoying about these bottles? See that little dark green circular knob thing? You have to flick that up to open the bottle. The catch is that they are REALLY HARD TO OPEN. Especially with wet hands. I seriously hurt my fingernail trying to open it earlier when I took a shower. Then I tried using my actual finger instead of the nail, but it wouldn’t even budge. I ended up giving up and just using my sister’s Herbal Essences shampoo instead.
I am not the only one who feels this way — there is an entire Facebook group dedicated to disliking these bottles. According to the comments, people have broken fingernails, cut their fingers open, and in general, gotten hurt.
Garnier … Fructis … hear our plea! Please change your bottle! The only reason I even HAVE this brand of shampoo is because my mom keeps buying them when they’re on sale. If I was living on my own, I would have switched to a different brand ages ago … which is a shame because I actually like the shampoo, but the bottle is just such a huge turn off.
