Emiko Shiratori
Though voice acting was not introduced into the Final Fantasy series until the tenth installment, since Final Fantasy VIII, vocal theme songs have become a regular part of the Final Fantasy formula. Emiko Shiratori sang the Japanese and English versions of Final Fantasy IX's theme song, Melodies Of Life. There is also a lullaby version in the game that Garnet sings. There is no voice acting in Final Fantasy IX, but Emiko more or less, was Garnet's voice. Emiko Shiratori was born on March 16, 1950, although there are some discripencies about the actual year she was born in (at least, in the Internet world there are). She has been singing since she was six years old, encouraged by her mother who was a singer at a cabaret herself. The first time Emiko sung publicly was with her mother. Emiko later studied at a university, aiming for a diploma in English and trying to becoming a university professor. However, obviously things didn't pan out that way. Emiko got her real start by singing with symphony orchestras and singing inside pubs. In 1969, she was signed under Toshiba Emi Records under the name Emiko Yamamuro. Emiko Shiratori is a veteran when it comes to singing, and her voice remains as beautiful as ever. Miss Shiratori has also sang songs for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.
