To be honest, I was really disappointed in how many Final Fantasy shrines are continously being taken down or put on never ending hiatuses (although it seems a great deal of Final Fantasy VII ones had sprung up since the release of Advent Children). Especially since Garnet is such a wonderful character and has so much depth to her, I was saddened to see all the good Garnet sites out there become "Page Cannot Be Found" sites. Therefore, I scrapped the idea of a Zidane and Garnet site (there are few Zidane shrines, but all are of high quality) and decided to create this site dedicated to only Garnet.

I've always liked Garnet, even from the beginning, and especially her name. Despite the fact FFIX being an FF game that's not as popular as the previous installments of FF or even FFX, I liked the game a lot (it being my most favourite installment of the series to date) and the characters are really memorable, despite their unpopular shrunken appearance. I thought Garnet was simply adorable as well as really beautiful. I marveled at the breathtaking FMVs and was so excited when I first met Garnet within the game, her grand and unforgettable escape from Alexandria Castle. Really, I was like, "I kidnapped the princess, yay!" As I continued the playing, it really tugged on my heart strings when I saw how her relationship with Zidane blossomed; it was subtle and smooth, not at all sudden. Although predictable, it was still lovely. That's how I came to wanting to make a couples shrine for the two of them, but because of lack of Garnet shrines on the net anyway, Whisper became a site only for Garnet.

Why did I choose the name Whisper? To be honest, it was another spur of the moment thing. I'm not very good at naming my websites -- usually they come off as irrelevant titles, or simply uncreative. Whisper falls in the category of irrelevant titles. I suppose if you think about it, the word whisper sort of reminds one of our shy princess who's determined to send her message across ... but that's just me trying to make up a reason why I chose "whisper".
