The great profile has spoken.
Phoenix Wright starts off as a rookie defense attorney, armed with nothing more than a fierce passion for his job and belief that his clients' are innocent of the crimes they are accused of. You play as Phoenix for the first three Ace Attorney games. He shows up in the fourth game as a non-playable character, but a very central and important figure nonetheless. As the player, you are usually able to read Phoenix's thoughts. He is known especially for his finger-pointing gesture and shouting, "Objection!"
Phoenix's personality and character evolves as he becomes a more experienced lawyer. He starts off as a sort of bumbling lawyer, unsure of what to do, and always looking to his mentor for guidance. It's not that he's not confident enough, it's just a huge pressure. After all, his clients are looking to him and depending on him to help them out. Phoenix can't bear the thought of letting them down. His character makes a leap in the fourth game and he seems to be a completely different person, a fact many fans noted. I personally think the change of character makes sense, even if the game didn't allow us to witness the actual character development/change.
Phoenix is not your typical protagonist of a video game. He's a normal kind of guy, nothing heroic really about him, and he has a realistic job as a lawyer. He's not even super good looking like male video game characters tend to be. But somehow, this rookie has become my favourite character and I hope you'll come to enjoy his story as much as I have.
